Lesotho
Lesotho is a small country in Southern Africa and one of the poorest in the continent with 37% of the population living on less than $1 a day. Poverty in Lesotho is deeply entrenched in the rural areas, where more than 70% of the people inhabit. In 2012, through funding from HIH International, HIH SA started implementing a project aimed at empowering women. The project is implemented in five districts namely Maseru, Mafeteng, Berea, Leribe and Quthing.
