SPORTS AND RECREATION

Hand in Hand Sports and Recreation provides and promotes gender equality and empowerment for girls, women, and youth.

The use of sports in our existing development programs such as our youth employment initiatives and skills development for migrant children and girls has proven to be effective by challenging gender stereotypes and impacting not only the participating individuals but also communities and local institutions.

Sports has become a livelihood option for many youths, especially young adolescent girls and women who have taken a liking for sports coaching, facilitating and professional careers in physical education/sports sciences.

As Hand in Hand SA, we believe that sports is a flexible and effective tool for our development programs and activities as we have observed its ability to mobilise diverse audiences and bring people from different walks of life together. Our Sporting programs are designed for specific project needs both with or without equipment and can be conducted indoors or outdoors.
