Business Training and Enterprise Development

Once a group has demonstrated stability and financial responsibility, HiH provides training on enterprise creation and development - how to start, grow and/or sustain a small micro-enterprise. Members are taken through an enterprise development training package, which includes modules in basic bookkeeping, business operations, marketing, etc. Where members are illiterate, HiH trainers facilitate learning through pictures, parables, testimonials and songs

For those beneficiaries who are already economically active, the focus will be on expanding or enhancing their enterprises; for those who have not been active, it provides information and training, plus on-going support, to enable them to identify and start a new activity. All the training is conducted by experienced trainers, familiar with the local community. The Enterprise Development Program has been designed specifically to suit the Eastern African context, adapted partly from the Indian model of SHG formation and training.
